Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Gerald H. Lipkin is Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of Valley National Bank. Mr. Lipkin was employed by the Comptroller of the Currency in NJ in 1963 and was appointed Deputy Regional Administrator by 1970. In 1975 he joined Valley National Bank as a Senior Vice President. He was elected a Director in 1986, promoted to Executive Vice President in 1987 and elected Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1989. The title of President was also added in 1996. Beyond his business accomplishments, Mr. Lipkin's philanthropic contributions are widely acknowledged.
Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Peter Crocitto is Chief Operating Officer, Senior Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. Mr. Crocitto joined Valley in 1977 and has held positions in various departments throughout the bank such as Consumer Lending, Retail Banking, MIS, Business Development and Operations. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1996 and assumed the title of Chief Operating Officer in 2008. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2011.
Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Alan D. Eskow, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer, Senior Executive Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Valley National Bank. Mr. Eskow joined Valley in 1990 as a Vice President in the Financial Administration Department. He is a licensed CPA in New Jersey and a member of both the American Institute of CPA's and the New Jersey State Society of CPA's. Mr. Eskow was designated the Controller in 1998 and Chief Financial Officer in 2000. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2011.
Senior Executive Vice President and Treasurer
Mr. Ira Robbins, CPA, is the Treasurer of Valley National Bank. He joined valley in 1996 as part of the Bank's Management Associate Program and is responsible for asset and liability management, debt and capital management, liquidity management, strategic planning, budgeting and derivative management. Mr. Robbins also participates in corporate development initiatives and oversees the management of the Bank's Human Resources Department. He is a licensed CPA in New Jersey and a member of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Public Accountants.
Senior Executive Vice President and President, Florida Division
Mr. Rudy E. Schupp is Senior Executive Vice President and at once, President of the Florida Division of Valley National Bank. Prior to the merger with Valley National Bank, Mr. Schupp co-founded and was President and Chief Executive Officer of the $1.7 billion 1st United Bank, headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida. Formerly, Mr. Schupp was Chairman of Florida Banking, Wachovia, N.A., and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the $3.5 billion Republic Security Bank in West Palm Beach, Florida, which he co-founded in 1984. Active in the South Florida business community, Mr. Schupp serves on the Board of Directors of NextEra Energy (NYSE Symbol NEE). He also served as a Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta for six years concluding on December 31, 2013. His commitments to the community include his role as a Director of the American Heart Association and the BBIC in Palm Beach County.
Executive Vice President and Chief Retail Lending Officer
Mr. Albert Engel is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. He joined Valley in 1996 and brings over 41 years of mortgage and banking experience to his position as Senior Officer responsible for all Consumer Lending, Residential Mortgage, Automobile Dealer Financing activities. Mr. Engel is a member of the NJ Bankers Association Residential Mortgage Committee, past member of the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae Regional Advisory Boards.
Executive Vice President and Director of Sales, Retail Banking, Marketing and Customer Service
Ms. Dianne M. Grenz is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. She joined Valley in 1995 and brings over 25 years of banking experience to her position as Director of Sales, Retail Banking, Marketing and Customer Service. She is also responsible for Shareholder and Public Relations and the Wealth Management and Trust Divisions. Ms. Grenz is instrumental in leading the development, implementation and execution of the Bank’s sales and marketing strategies by ensuring that the Bank delivers efficient, comprehensive and competitive products as well as providing exceptional customer service.
Ms. Grenz serves on the board of the Center of United Methodist Aid to the Community (CUMAC) and volunteers for a number of philanthropic organizations including Hospice, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) among others.
Executive Vice President, Commercial Lending
Mr. Thomas Iadanza is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. He is responsible for managing Valley's commercial and industrial banking segment, commercial real estate and Highland Capital Corporation, a full-service Lessor. Mr. Iadanza joined Valley in 2012 as part of the State Bank of Long Island acquisition and brings over 35 years of experience to his position. Prior to joining Valley, Mr. Iadanza served as the Chief Lending Officer and Executive Vice President of State Bank of Long Island.
Executive Vice President
Mr. James G. Lawrence is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. He is also the President of VNB New York LLC, the New York commercial lending subsidiary of Valley National Bank. Mr. Lawrence joined Valley in 2001 through the merger of Merchants Bank of New York and Valley National Bank. He was President and CEO of Merchants Bank from 1984 through January, 2001.
Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Lending Officer
Mr. Robert M. Meyer is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. He is the officer in charge of the Commercial Lending; Commercial Mortgage Lending; Legal, and Corporate and Government Services departments. In addition, he oversees the medical equipment leasing subsidiary Highland Capital Corp. Mr. Meyer began his banking career at Bankers Trust Company in 1969 and prior to the merger of Midland Bancorp and Valley National Bank, was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Midland Bancorp from 1991 to 1997. Mr. Meyer is currently a member of the Board of Directors and former Campaign Chairman of Bergen County's United Way, and a Director of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Bankers Association, past Chairman of the Community Bankers Association (NJ), and a former member of the Advisory Board for the School of Business at Montclair State University.
Executive Vice President and Senior Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer
Ms. Bernadette M. Mueller is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank and joined Valley in 1992. She is responsible for the strategic oversight and administration of Valley's CRA plan. This includes the annual review and update of the Bank's CRA plan goals and the development of appropriate strategies, products and services to support the achievement of these goals. Ms. Mueller also works with Valley's various business line segments to deliver a best-in-class CRA program that will maintain the Bank’s position as a concerned corporate citizen with long-term ties to the communities it serves. Ms. Mueller was named Garden State Woman of the Year in the financial services category by Garden State Woman in 2011.
Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Mr. Robert J. Mulligan is an Executive Vice President of Valley National Bank. He supervises a number of departments at the Bank including technology, bank operations and facilities. Mr. Mulligan joined Valley in 1991 as a Senior Vice President. During his career he has supervised a variety of departments throughout the bank including Retail Banking, Security, Training, Facilities, Purchasing and de novo branch site selection. In 1993, he was promoted to First Senior Vice President. In 1999, he was designated as President of the Wealth Management Division.
Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Ms. Andrea T. Onorato is an Executive Vice President and the Chief Administrative Officer at Valley National Bank. She joined Valley in 1977 and has held several prominent positions in the Retail Banking area of the Bank including Director of Retail Operations. As Chief Administrative Officer she is responsible for managing a number of departments, including Deposit Operations, Alternate Delivery Channels, Digital Banking Solutions, Commercial Loan Servicing, Corporate Property Management and will have oversight of the Information Services Department. In addition, Ms. Onorato manages Business Process Management, which works collaboratively with various business units throughout the Bank to streamline, automate and enhance current processes in order to improve customer service, workflow, and efficiency.
Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer
Ms. Melissa Scofield is the Chief Risk Officer for Valley National Bank. She joined Valley in 2015 and her responsibilities include managing a number of independent control functions, including enterprise-wide Risk Management, Internal Audit, AML Compliance, Loan Review, Regulatory Compliance and Information Security. Prior to joining Valley, she served as an Assistant Deputy Comptroller for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) in the New York Field Office, where she supervised a team of examiners and a portfolio of national banks and federal thrift institutions. Ms. Scofield served in various examining and supervisory roles at the OCC through her nearly 34 year career, primarily within Community and Mid-Size Bank supervision. She was commissioned a National Bank Examiner in 1989 and earned the credential to lead examinations of Federal Savings Associations in 2013.
